Every fall, the Kick It for Recovery event brings together families, friends, and community members for more than just a game — it’s a celebration of life, hope, and second chances.
This year marked the 4th annual Kick It for Recovery, and the day couldn’t have been more perfect. The sun was shining, spirits were high, and everyone came together to honor Mike’s life and support those working toward lasting recovery.
Organized by the Reitzell family and friends, this annual fundraiser helps sponsor individuals in their recovery efforts. Proceeds from the event directly benefit Learn to Live Recovery, an extended care sober living program located in Hermann, Missouri.
This year’s kickball tournament was a huge success — and not just on the field! While the team joked early on about raising “only” $27,000, thanks to a generous donation from the Beelman family, the final total climbed to over $32,500. That brings the four-year total to more than $98,000 raised to support recovery efforts.
The Reitzell family’s dedication and the outpouring of community support continue to make this event one of the most uplifting days of the year. Their commitment honors Mike’s legacy while helping others find hope, stability, and a new way forward.
For the team at Learn to Live Recovery, being part of this event is both humbling and inspiring. It’s a reminder that recovery doesn’t happen alone — it happens when communities come together to lift each other up.
